一 | (ECNS) -- The People's Bank of China (PBOC) has renewed its bilateral currency swap agreement with the Central Bank of Argentina, the Chinese central bank said last Thursday. The agreement has a swap value of 130 billion yuan (about 19.1 billion U.S. dollars), equivalent to 28 trillion Argentine pesos, according to the PBOC. The deal has been extended for another five years and will remain in effect until 2031. The renewal is expected to further deepen financial cooperation between the two countries, facilitate bilateral economic and trade exchanges, and safeguard financial market stability, the PBOC said. 二 | Colombo, Oct 16 (UNI) Three people have died and over 55,000 people from 13,902 families have been affected by floods and landslides in Sri Lanka in the past 72 hours, the Disaster Management Center (DMC) said on Sunday.
The rainy weather that ushered in floods and landslides will continue till Wednesday, the DMC said.
Meanwhile, Director of Irrigation (Hydrology) Eng. S.P.C. Sugeeshwara said the risk of floods in some areas will exacerbate if heavy rains continue.
The landslide warning issued for six districts has been extended considering the adverse weather conditions, the DMC said.
The Department of Meteorology said the current heavy rains are due to the influence of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) near the country.
